All is Fair in Love & War

Life has been full of a lot of sadness recently. I'm reminded how cruel people can be when it comes to love, and a relationship can consume everything waking moment in one person's life while hardly crossing the mind of the person involved.

I believe that the greatest comfort someone can have is coming home to a clean house and a freshly-cooked meal. It's one of my favorite ways to show love to people that come to visit. I work in the morning and my fiancee works until late at night, so I do my best to keep a clean house for her to come home to, though there's still a lot for me to learn. I want to learn how to cook so that she has a good meal when she comes home.

Distracted Laundry Thoughts

Today, I'm exploring how to keep our hampers under control. We divvy up our clothes into delicates, shirts, and pants, but I feel that there's a better system. Our complex only has one washer and dryer (which are coin-op) between four units; not a terrible setup, but quarters are a pain in the ass to get and I want to make the most of each load.

At the moment, we typically wash our delicates and bed sheets at home, and try to wash our shirts and pants at a laundromat, though we'll wash at home if we really need to. Our philosophy is that delicate clothing (underwear, socks, fishnets) won't ruin each other if they're washed together, whereas washing them with shirts and pants could cause issues. We keep shirts separate since they're lighter than pants but heavier than underwear. Our typical laundry loads are grouped a bit like this:

While I was looking up tips online, I got distracted by a site from someone named Robbie Rice that has a ton of cleaning and cooking tips that he compiled over the years. I have no idea who this is, but there's some tricks on here that I hadn't heard of; like using egg whites and a soft brush to get gum off of clothing!

I got distracted and didn't end up doing the laundry, but I did a tarot reading for my fiancee and vacuumed and cleaned up the house a bit. I cooked some dinner; airfried IKEA meatballs with and mushrooms with some waffle fries and chili pancit canton. I forgot that I didn't have gravy, so I used a maple chipotle sauce that was in the fridge and it was pretty tasty!

I listened to some music, made some updates to the site, stayed up too late, and hung out with my fiancee after she got off of work. Today was hard, but the new moon is coming up, so things are gonna start picking up again!
