My name is Christian. I'm a 27-year-old living in California that enjoys slowing down and taking time to understand life. This website helps me to do that, since I have somewhere that I can share my writings.
I've worked in IT helpdesk for about 7-8 years now. I'm on a mission to selfhost the essential services that I use daily, and want to reach a point where I can open my services to friends and family to show that corporations aren't the only people that can provide these services.
I listen to music, watch movies, play video games, and enjoy some anime and TV shows every now and then; my catalog for each of these isn't huge, but I have a very strong attachment to the artists, albums, films, games, and shows that catch my attention.
I try to live as balanced as realistically possible, trying to avoid indulging too much or too little or tunnel-visioning on a given aspect of life to the point that it eclipses everything else. I want to experience as much as I can in this life in the fullest way possible, but to appreciate each of these experiences, I need time to process them. The ordinary cannot exist without the extraordinary, and sometimes, the mundane can reveal just as much--if not more--than any given fantastical experience.
I love to laugh, and I think that learning to laugh at yourself is one of the most important experiences. I'm quite a klutz and a good bit scatterbrained, so this was a very necessary lesson for me to learn. Whether it's running to the store for one thing you absolutely needed and walking out with everything except that one crucial item, parking in your usual spot thinking and ignoring the giant parking sign saying "DO NOT PARK HERE" and coming back to your car being towed, or dropping tray holding a freshly-cooked burger combo all over the floor at your favorite burger joint, we all go through ridiculous, humbling experiences that pop our ego balloons; it's the Universe's way to bringing us back down to Earth, and the Universe has a great sense of humor. Learn to love it!
